And what's up with Aaron Hicks homering off of three different Phillie pitchers while we're at it? That seems like too many for one game.

Big hit for Ruf today. That's something. The thing is, though, it doesn't matter if he hits if there's nowhere to play him anyway.

Hadn't occurred to me that Doc looked good and Joseph was the backstop Doc was throwing to. That's a good thing, huh.

It did occur to me that Brown looked good again. And he is doing it while under a microscope. So he is producing under pressure. Given the situation with Young's continuing recovery and Ruf's not faring so well under the microscope, Brown really has to be good. More pressure. And he is still producing. That's a good thing, huh.

Doc announcing the Phillies are not here to be cowed or taken for granted was a welcome moment. The pitch behind Moore was a welcome sight, given that no one but Hamels last year seemed to care. And Hamels got reamed out by the GM for it. When Doc underscored what he did afterward to the press, it was even better. A multiple Cy Young winner delivering an edgy message. That's a good thing, huh.

Aside from Del Young, some pretty good things going on.
