I think even if the Phillies don't add a corner OF before the start of the season, there's a good chance they will early in the year. I think the options open up a lot once you get into camp and teams tighten up who is going to make their team and who is not. More players become available and the Phillies don't need a great one to improve in left field at this point.

Still, if it's Brown in right and platoon in left with the guys we have, we know left field is going to be very weak and right field is a big question mark.

I've not given up trying to figure out what Amaro is going to do, but I'm pretty sure I've never been correct, whether talking about the Lee and Doc trades or the fiasco of last winter.

But yeah. Seems to me he has to get a corner outfielder, a real one, not some half baked platoon player.

My hunch is that Amaro knows he is a contract year too. If they miss the post season again, and that is a far more likely result than making it right now, he has to be gone. He has to be pretty seriously motivated.

But then I've certainly not been right up to this point. Except that I called their failure to make last season's postseason somewhere in March.
