I would have guessed that Gillies was way down on the radar for the Phillies. I’d rather see him there on opening day than Mayberry, though.

Honestly, I’m not sure that anything terrible has happened yet. The Phillies offer Pagan four years, $41 million would have been worse. Upton is a little closer, but still glad the Phils didn’t go five years, $76 million.

Span is the one that hurts, at least for me. Don’t know what it would have taken the Phillies to get him, but I think he would have helped and not been a huge salary hit.

Really, anyone but Mayberry. If we don’t get Bourn, I’m really hoping for some kind of surprise trade, because otherwise we may as well go with the Tampa 2 defense all year.

Especially if they’re really not interested n bringing Victorino back.

I think it’s bad news if true if there’s really no chance of a trade for Bourjos. Also, even forgetting whether or not his offense is a Colorado illusion, Dexter Fowler really can’t play center field in Colorado or anywhere. He’s not good there.

I really am having trouble getting past Bourn and Victorino trying to put together a list of guys that would make sense for the Phillies in center.
