I’m guessing it doesn’t work out that way. Some sites are speculating Brown or Ruf, who could DH for Houston after the move to the AL. I’d be less excited if one of those guys were in the deal.

I feel pretty okay about three catcher prospects in the minors. Especially given that the Phillies are probably going to start Erik Kratz, Humberto Quintero or Steven Lerud on opening day and each of the next 24 games after that. I do agree a catcher is likely to go in the deal, though.

Valle makes sense due to a logjam at catcher at AAA and AA (Joseph, Rupp, Valle) although it could just as easily be Rupp, who went to school in Texas. I like including Valle a bit more because a) he’s taking up a 40-man spot and b) the man can’t take a walk. I’ve really soured on him in the last year.

I think he’s going to produce a lot of value and earn a low salary. He would be a great add for the Phillies. Let’s wait and see what they gave up to get him, though, cause that’s a big piece of the equation and so far I have no idea other than people guessing.
