Yeah, that was nice. I was getting tired of watching Edgin mow the lefties down. Hopefully this means less people will be walking Utley to pitch to Howard in big situations. That's just depressing to watch.

I'm kind of glad for another team's pitcher who befuddles the Big Guy with breaking balls and then serves him up a fastball in his wheelhouse to get him out.

What's the line from the movie? "Anything that goes that far ought to have a damned stewardess."

Trading Galvis is the best idea I have heard. There must be someone with a bag of balls around.

I was thinking today (I know, always a dangerous thing to do) and it occurs to me that if these guys go on a tear and win 14 in a row, their being a good team is still an illusion going forward.

I want 2 new guys in the pen, and 4 new guys for third and ALL outfield positions. I know. i am a voice crying in the wilderness. And it aint gonna happen.

I think there's close to no chance Utley at third can work.

If the Phillies are committed to playing Galvis regularly, Galvis, Utley and Rollins can't all play at the same time if they all play second or short.

Playing Galvis regularly is a really poor idea. Trading Galvis to someone who thinks he's not awful is a much better idea.

Still hoping for intervention that skips Cloyd's turn. Looks like we're going to have to keep hoping.

Yeah. In 2011, for example, the Phillies went 46-18 when Halladay or Lee started. So the Phillies won 21 more games with those guys pitching than they have so far this year.

That was better.

I think the 25-25 number is the most telling. Assuming the Phillies figured on winning 70% of those games (not an unreasonable number based upon past experience) that is ten more wins. 84-64 looks a whole heck of a lot better right now.

Also, on a semi-serious note, the Phillies are now 25-25 in the games for the year that were started by Halladay or Lee. That wasn't the plan going in to the year.
