I still think it was a good pickup. But the Phils need a solid righty in the bullpen and I think it would be a mistake to count on Lindblom to be the guy.

Big factors to me seem to be the addition of Lindblom, letting Kendrick pitch out of the pen and Schwimer being suddenly great.

Right now I think the Phils have 11 pitchers on the roster: five starters, lefties Bastardo and Horst and righties Kendrick, Papelbon, Schwimer and Lindblom.

That’s a whole lot better than it’s been recently.

I think keeping Kendrick in the pen is key. Especially since I don’t think we should be counting on Schwimer and Lindblom.

I hope when the Phils trade Blanton they call up Cloyd to pitch in the rotation. If they don’t, I hope they call him up to take Kendrick’s job in the pen.

I think Wigginton and Pierre have to go. I think they bring up a 12th pitcher when one of them does.

Right now the Phils have four left-handed OF and Mayberry. That’s no good. Still nobody to play CF against righties, although Mayberry was great with the bat last night.

I think the biggest question is who among Blanton, Pierre and Wigginton are going to stay with the team for the rest of the year. It seems like Blanton’s future should have something to do with what they do about Cloyd.

Glad they currently have four righties in the pen instead of Papelbon and Schwimer.
