Seems worth pointing out that the bullpen has randomly been undeniably fantastic in games started by Blanton. 1.62 ERA and a 1.02 ratio. In 44 1/3 innings, they have allowed eight earned runs.

Phillie relievers have a 1.62 ERA pitching in games started by Blanton and a 5.45 ERA pitching in games not started by Blanton.

That has a lot to do with why they’re 11-8 in his 19 starts.

Also, 40 pitches for Kendrick isn’t so hot. At least Halladay goes tonight, hopefully for longer than five.

All off the things you just said times ten. Watching Kendrick finally give us a long guy really makes a difference.

Bastardo. His slider has been wicked for three games now. If this implies that he maybe maybe maybe can get back, like now, that would help too. But I am not betting my mortgage money on it.
