I think the Phillies should definitely trade Thome for bullpen help if they can. I think they’ll try. If you mean is he enough to get the kind of bullpen help the Phillies need, I’m not sure. It seems like the number of teams he could be dealt to is pretty small. It would need to be an AL team with playoff hopes for this year with problems at DH.

The thing with Schneider is that he scares absolutely nobody at the plate, regardless of which hand he hits with. He was having a great year this year, well above career, but that’s not something I expected to continue.

Kendrick 56 pitches through three innings. That’s not good. I agree with Bill he’s gotta throw a bunch more innings.

I kind of like the left/right thing with Ruiz/Schneider, but it wouldn’t take a lot of homers from Kratz to change my mind.
