Yup. What fries me is that no one seems to be calling Amaro out. Charlie takes the wrap. Amaro rolled around basking in his kudos when things went well. But when things get hard due to his bad decisions he doesn't have the stones to step out in public. He lets Charlie take the heat.

I agree. But I think we've known that for a long time. They're going to need a bunch of other players if they're going to get good enough. Hopefully Utley is the first and he can help soon.

My point is that the players Amaro put on the field are not good enough. This team as it is constituted has virtually no chance.

I definitely think Amaro has made some major mistakes in trying to pass marginal guys off as major league players. Also agree that what those guys have done have had a lot more to do with what's wrong with the Phillies than any decisions that Manuel has made.

But -- yesterday the Phillies sent Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee to the mound in a double-header and lost both games. Yes, the loses had a lot more to do with what they players did than what Manuel did, but Manuel didn't have a good day, especially in the 3-2 game. Pulled Hamels too early and let Thome hit when he shouldn't have.

The Phillies could have won anyway, but they didn't.

And if your point is that that's because they aren't very good, I agree.
