Blanton has been truly awful since mid-May, allowing at least five runs in each of his last five starts. He needs to turn it around soon or the Phillies need to stop letting him pitch.

Yeah, he got some good wood on that one. I went to a ton of Cardinals games in the mid-to-late 90s in St Louis. Mark McGwire used to hit some home runs that looked like Thome’s shot last night.

Thome is now hitting 293/383/488 for the year. That turned around fast.
