Actually DM, I’ve been high on Kendrick since about the middle of last season. I’ve been wishing Blanton would get out of the way so Kendrick could be the full-time 5th starter.

Joe’s just mocking me because, for a brief moment, I was showing a glimmer in faith in him. I have been appropriately rewarded. I’m back to wishing to trade him for a bag of balls, even if it means Scott Elarton takes his spot in the rotation.

Anyone here foresee Kendrick being critical to the Phillies’ success? Man, I sure didn’t. What an awful mess it would be without him.

Maybe if they tried cutting down on the runs they allowed and scoring more runs at the same time? Just throwing things out here.

I predict Lee gets at least one win before it’s over.

No idea what’s going to happen with Blanton. Seems like it’s either got to get better or less often. Either should help.

I think cutting down on runs allowed holds a certain merit as a strategy. Not certain, you understand, but it has a certain ring to it.

If possible, the pen might consider allowing fewer, for example. And it might help if Cliff could adjust the ERA he has carried through the last three games. And Joe? Well. Doesn’t he have to be better than recently?

I found it a little encouraging that the offense has scored more runs this year through 52 games than they did last year. That’s something, right?

I think the Phils are going to be in trouble if they allow 130 (or 128) more runs in 2012 than they did in 2011. Cause they’re not going to score 130 more and not going to get close. That’s okay cause they don’t need to win 102 games. But given their offense, I think they’re going to need to cut down the number of runs they allow and pretty soon.

Yeah, those starters last year were pretty amazing. They made up for a symphony of inconsistent offense.

A somewhat different set of circumstances this year, huh, injuries being a huge part.
