Diekman shows signs of a future, one bad appearance notwithstanding.

Chooch is just having a year. And Freddie just plays the game. He is a delivery man so far. Good thing; the corners are not participating as much as one would hope.

What is hopeful to me is that they are starting to give us a reason to stay to the end of games after a dreadful beginning of never coming back when behind. This is a good thing. Maybe the starting pitching will find some reason to hope too because of that.

Cole not signed makes me wonder.

I’m actually happy with the way the bullpen pitched last night. Qualls did pretty much as expected (ie lousy) and the rest of the pen was solid against a good offensive team. Also happy to see 18 hits.
