Nice ending. Qualls really shouldn't pitch against lefties, as I think I may have mentioned here before. He faced two lefties in the ninth and both of them doubled.

Great to see Diekman get the Phils out of such a big situation in his debut. Also great to see Pence hit two home runs in the game, including the game-winner.

On the plus side, we got to see Diekman (who looks good), and we got a walk-off homer from Pence. So, not all bad.

He's really been good so far. I'm starting to believe. I agree that Manuel took him out at just the right time last night.

I would have liked to see someone else start the ninth as well after the Phils scored two in the bottom of the eighth. I can understand wanting to use Papelbon and be done with it, though. I think it does make it hard that they've now used him three days in a row. It will be interesting to see what the Phils do late in today's game if it's close. Hopefully it will not matter in a good way.

Still don't trust Joe. When he's on, he's on, but he's still a threat for one of those innings when the wheels fall off the wagon. Kudos to Charlie for giving him the hook before it was too late.

Was hoping to see some different pitchers, especially in the 9th in a non-save situation. There's new guys up that we should find out if they can help the team..
