I think it's fairly apparent that it won't be a 100-win season.. but I don't see how we fail to make the playoffs, or even fail to win the division. Atlanta's having much worse problems, Miami & Washington just aren't there yet, and the Mets are struggling to keep the lights on..

We could probably get 88 wins with our pitching rotation and 8 copies of Wilson Valdez. And 88 wins probably takes the NL East this year.

I'd kind of feel better if they had a first baseman. Or a second baseman. Or a left fielder. Or a third baseman. Other than that I feel good.

Not sure what to say about the Phillies. But I'm trying to see a post season in 2012. As the team stands now, I can't. A second lefty seems the least of the issues.

It's funny that who the second lefty was going to be seemed pretty important coming into Spring Training. It doesn't anymore. Diekman, Savery and Purcey have all been good so far. Horst has ugly numbers, but he's been really good except for one outing. Will be interesting to see what the Phillies do, but I hope they start the season with at least one of those guys on the roster.

So long Dontrelle. We hardly knew ye.

I really like Diekman as a dark horse second lefty. I've liked him for a while now since he re-worked his delivery. Would like him even more if he didn't walk every other batter. He will certainly not help the control issues the bullpen experienced last season.

Yup. That's kind of a surprise to me. I do hope they find a second lefty for the pen between Savery, Diekman and Purcey. And Horst, too, I suppose. Savery, Diekman and Purcey have combined to allow one earned run (Purcey). Horst had an awful game that ended with a three-run homer by Brian Bixler and has a 6.75 ERA to prove it.
