Pretty sure Phils are going to have the best record in the NL. That should help. I agree that it's good the Giants pitchers are likely to be watching. Five games isn't a lot, though, and the best team doesn't always win. Same thing with seven. On the other hand, if you had to pick I think you're better off being the best team.

Yup. Short series can make a great season worthless. Having said that, I am glad for a couple of things. One, we will not have to face Timmy and Matty; the Snakes have pretty much seen to that. Two, it is getting close to when we will have home field throughout the playoffs; I think I saw that the magic number for that is 11. It would be good not to have to play the Brewers on their home grass.

I agree. No question the Phils are the best team in the league. The bad news is that the best team doesn't always win. No matter how many games the Phils win in the regular season, their success overall for the year is going to come down to what they do in a tiny handful of games.

Glad to see Francisco get a couple more hits last night. I really think he can still help this team. I hope they give Victorino couple of days off soon. He looks like he could use them.

I saw the lineup for last night's game and almost died. Then I checked every source I could think of for an injury report that showed that all four guys were hurt and our season was suddenly hanging by a thread. As it turned out, Charlie just made out that lineup without being under any duress at all. Imagine.

It occured to me after thrashing the Brewers last night with that lineup that while we in Philly worry about who we might or might not have to face in October, all those other teams really have something to worry about. They have to worry about playing the beast that is the Philadelphia Phillies. I am glad we have our worries and not theirs.
