I'd guess there's close to no chance we see Mayberry at third or Polanco at short next year. I agree that Mayberry has been a lot of fun to watch recently. If he keeps hitting home runs at this rate he doesn't even need to walk more. Sadly, that's unlikely, but it's still a great show for now.

Did my own research for a change (lol)

Polly's guaranteed for 2012 with a mutual option for 2013. Perhaps he can play short?

I thought this was the last year of Polly's contract. Seems like every year he's playing through a worse injury than the year before anyway.

I wouldn't mind a productive Brown in left and Mayberry on 3rd.. makes next year look scary already.

BTW, I saw a report that Amaro may ask Mayberry to try playing at third base next year(his higjh school position). True?

Opinions? And where does Polly go if that works?

Agreed. If they hit like this or anything close to it, I cannot imagine how they can be beaten. Rained out, maybe, but not beaten. And one can almost see Mayberry's desire. He WANTS a job, not frequent flyer miles between Philly and Reading. It is fun to see him do this.

The Phils are on fire. Great to see. Mayberry is a monster. So is Victorino. I still don't feel real comfortable about the bullpen and Stutes didn't do much to help that last night. A lot of other stuff is going well, though. More than three runs in seven games in a row for the Phils now -- I think they can win a lot of games if they keep hitting.
