Yeah, maybe. But I actually do not think they will lose to anyone else. (Yeah, I know, anyone can lose to anyone at any time, etcetcetc.) Because of Halliday, Lee, Hamels, whomever, and a newly balanced line-up. I just think they are too good to lose a seven series to anyone... except the Giants. I think they are vulnerable to the Giants because they seem to have Lincecum in their head, or somewhere incapacitating. And he will get two starts. If they cannot beat him, and they have shown no ability to do so over a long period of time, then the scenario I mentioned above comes into play. That would so WAY suck.

I'm feel like Lincecum is great, 10-9 record this year or not. Winning the Cy Young award twice before you turn 26 is a positive indicator of pitching ability. If the Phils play the Giants in the post-season and are healthy, I think they have a big advantage on paper. They could lose, of course, but they could lose to just about anyone in the NL who will make the playoffs.

Yup. It does count... for a lot. This is a crazily good basball team. They should WALK to the World Series title. But the reality is they have not solved Lincecum. If that continues, they are at risk in a short series to a team they should slaughter, and slaughter on a regular basis. Lincecum's W/L record shows that he is not a "great pitcher"; great pitchers do not carry 500 records with a world championship club (check Carlton, Steve, 1972). Weirdly, Lincecum looks like Cy Young when he faces us. It is weird, and to me inexplicacble.

They gotta solve this guy. And they have not yet done so. They gotta.

Golly. Aren't we a little storm cloud. What about Halladay, Hamels and Lee? And an offense? The Giants do have some outstanding pitching and they made the Phils look awful last year. But the Phils are better, and that should count for something.

It is embarrassing. I feel for the guy.

I can't really work up the hatred for Lincecum. I do think the Giant's have been inflated to a point that's unhealthy. I think the Braves and Brewers might both be better than them. I don't think it's likely to happen, but if Arizona catches them I don't think they beat the Braves out for the Wild Card. Of course they could beat the Phils in the post-season again, but so could the Braves or the Brewers or just about anyone else.

While watching Lincecum pitch, my 4-year old daughter commented, "I didn't know they let girls play against the Phillies." I tried explaining he just had a bad hair cut, but she wasn't buying it.

Pence is just horrible. If he was any good at all, he could've willed a four-game sweep. Hopefully he can redeem himself against the Dodgers with a 5-5 games and 4HR (with a triple for good measure). Of course, he only hits home runs when the team is ahead by 6. Like DeMannse said, I don't even think his family admits they know him any more.
