I definitely agree I'd be disappointed to see Worley go. He's really been awesome so far this year. Opponents are hitting .199 against him for the season, which is better than anyone else that has started a game for the Phils. The run seems sure to end soon, but we should enjoy it while we can.

So here's more thinking on Worley:

- Getting to the tournament is the main goal within your control
- Once you're in the tournament, you have effectively an equal chance as everyone else. There isn't much advantage to being the best team in baseball.
- Once you reach a certain threshold, you win more championships by attending more tournaments than improving a team that's already poised to make a showing in a certain tournament
- Worley looks like a guy that would be very useful to have in making it to tournaments in 2012 and beyond. Most of our starters are getting old and/or injured.
- Therefore, I'd be very disappointed if we move him

Worley. Nine complete superb. Utley. Inside the park, right knee and all. Mayberry. Dinger and a better right field than Brown plays in his dreams. Raul. dinger; all they would need.

You know, if Brown is as hot a prospect as everyone says he is, why is he so "raw"? Willie was not this way when he came up. Hank wasn't. The Minister Of Defense wasn't. Even Shane wasn't.

But Brown is. There is no acceptible excuse for the way he plays the game in right except that he is not as good as everyone thinks he is. Too many balls fall in front of him. Too many balls get by him. His arm is strong, but it is (at best) scatter shot. If he is a TRUE 5 tool player, we would not be seeing the erratic play in right. Greatness is not learned. It is possessed. Brown has not evinced greatness. He is over rated.

My gripe about the game other than Lee got pounded is Brown flailing again in the outfield diving after Johnson's double. He's worse defensively out there than I had expected.

Great performance by the Phils out of the pen. Five scoreless from Lidge, Carpenter and Stutes wasn't what I was expecting. They really gave the Phils a chance to win, the bats just came up a little short after a 5-1 hole.

Don't want to see too much of four innings from the starter with the Phils playing 20 games in 20 days. Should be a fun series with the Giants.

Lolligaggers!

Anyway, I would expect Lee to be upset after pitching the way he did. I'd be more worried if he wasn't upset. Go get 'em next time Clifton.

Nice to see Vic picking things up again. Maybe he can talk to Howard about hitting baseballs. I still can't believe his five year extension hasn't even started yet.

I like Worley, but I think the pitching advantage goes to the Giants tonight.
