Yeah, haven’t seen Pineda play yet. I am kind o fhoping that he isn’t as good as the reports. If he is he is scary. But we do have monster killers on our team.

Pineda is great. He should be fun to watch. Hopefully the Phils keep on hitting. Phils pitchers should benefit from getting to pitch at Safeco, too, not that they seem to need a whole lot of help these days.

Aside from the games starting here at ten at night, it will be very interesting to see the full Phillies lineup (ie, with Utley ESP) take on some more really serious pitching. I will really be interested to see Worley. Talk about being tossed into the deep end of the pool.

I was surprised, too. Not disappointed, but surprised. Romero has walked seven batters per nine innings in his last three years with the Phils. That makes it pretty hard to be successful.

Romero did pitch really well for the Phils in the post-season, with the exception of the 2007 NLDS against the Rockies. After that game in 2007, Romero gave the Phils 8 1/3 scoreless innings in the post-season in 2008 and 2010, allowing just two hits and three walks. He was especially good in the ’08 World Series, throwing 4 2/3 scoreless innings against the Rays while allowing two hits and not walking anyone.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.. was Romero *ever* right, at any time after the “tainted supplement” fiasco?

I agree it was time to move on, but I certainly didn’t expect it. Charlie tends to stick with his guys for about 12 months too long.
