Back-to-back nice games for Utley, with a 3-for-3 with three RBI for Howard thrown in there yesterday. If those guys keep it up it could solve a whole bunch of problems with the offense pretty quick.

Don't know. But that 26 guy appeared again today (Sunday). Can we keep him? And the big guy hitting fourth. Can we keep him too? I bet that if we can, we are gonna have a lot fewer gray hairs and some pretty fun wins over reslly good teams.

For the most part, the losses this year are not a product of the pitching staff. I wonder how it is in the clubhouse these days. I wonder if the pitchers are getting tired of having their backs to the wall all of the time. Certainly Lee and Oswalt and Halliday all came here with the expectation of a better offense behind them than the places from whence they came. To find out that this offense is not the offense they had expected might be starting to wear on them by now. Hamels might also want a better offense behind him, just for the ease of it; it has not been easy for him even before this year. I just have been wondering what happens in a club house when this lack of offense becomes normative while the pitching is really good to spectacular.
