Phils are 13-5 when Hamels or Halladay start this year and 13-11 when anyone else does.

I have the same question about Blanton’s elbow soreness. I don’t know the answer. Hopefully it’s that the nature of his problem is 1) minor and 2) something that’s not going to get worse by throwing more.

I honestly thought there was no way he was going that deep after what I thought was a struggle in the 1st for him. If the offense is only gonna put up 1 or 2 runs and the Phils pitcher is only gonna allow one fewer, than he might as well be the pitcher of record. Also a bonus of a deep game with Blanton going tonight. This elbow thing has me puzzled as to why he is even throwing if he is hurt?

The Phils sure have been up against some darn good pitching too these days…
