I don’t know why he was sent down. I’ve been under the impression that they want him to keep pitching as a starter and not a reliever so he can fill in the rotation if they need someone. I’m not sure who his numbers this year came against would escape possible trade partners.

He thinks that Worley was sent down so he would not have to face the more accomplished offensive teams on the Phillies’ schedule now. The reason for that? Because he thinks that Worley is being show cased and his major league prowess preserved towards that end. He did well against lesser teams (so Eskin’s thoughts go), might not do as well against better teams, and Eskin thinks the Phillies want Worley to look as good as possible so he can be traded.
