I think that in any at-bat Mayberry has a chance against a righty. I think he's a legit power option against either righties or lefties. I think if they give him a lot of at-bats against righties, though, his numbers overall would be bad cause he wouldn't get on base enough. On the other hand, I'm not sure and he hasn't gotten a lot of chances in the majors yet. Also, you don't have to be real good to be an improvement over Ibanez at this point.

I agree about the schedule. In addition to the quality of the opponent, the off-days are going to start to get more rare. Twenty games in a row without an off-day May 13 through June 1.

I wish we could have one the series, but regardless it was great to be at that game. I went to several Lakewood BlueClaws games over the last 10 years and to see how these players progress to the majors is awesome.

And the Fish, for crying out loud. The FISH. Did anyone see this coming? I sure did not. That kid they have in right field (Stanton) makes me very jealous. Yeow. Have you seen the ball jump off his bat? When the Fish come to town, it will be serious baseball, I am thinking.

Fully agreed DaMannse. April's schedule was a cupcake compared to May's. Heres to getting out to a good start against the Nats tonight.

BTW, I will take the 18 wins too, but with some perspective. In April, did we play ANYone with a winning record? May's schedule will be far more challenging.

I hope that Brown is made of stern stuff because with Ibanez hitting like he is (or NOT hitting as he is), the expectations on Brown will be even higher. Cetainly the stakes are going to be.

Do you really think Mayberry has no chance against righties?

Yeah, but could you slug .179 against right-handed pitching?

I'm kinda looking forward to Brown joining the team a lot more than I had expected.

Again with the poor showing against Young.

Ibanez is really struggling. Brown starts rehad tonight with the Pigs! I'm sure I can go 0-34 anytime the Phils would like, just give me a call.

Fantastic crowd last night. Phils/Mets fans with one common theme.

18 wins in April. with all the b*tching and moaning we do, I'll take it.

No argument on Ibanez. I don't know what the Phillies are going to do. I don't think they have a plan for the Ibanez-can't-hit-anything-contingency. Mayberry against lefties, I suppose, but I don't think that's going to be enough offense from left field.
