I really hope they don’t give another hitter spot to someone that can’t hit at all. I don’t think they feel good enough about Delwyn Young defensively to let him play second regularly. Hopefully they give Josh Barfield a lot more chances in the next couple of weeks. He’s been a huge disappointment offensively over his career, but even given that he has offensive numbers that are better than Valdez.

Charlie doesn’t like moving Polly unless he’s forced to. I think Valdez, or Young, or Bocock, or Martinez could play 2B. (There’s a thought Eric. Rule 5 pick as opening day starting 2nd baseman.)

Hopefully he comes back strong. The Utley thing seems a lot worse to me. The Phils may have been hoping for production from Brown, but they were counting on it from Utley. The door seems to have been opened to the possibility that he’s going to miss a lot of time. Let’s hope not.
