Rollins might have a reputation for performing on the big stage, but his numbers in the post-season over the last couple of years haven't been good. He has had some big moments, but overall the line isn't impressive.

Nice to see him hit the grand slam last night, though.

I don't see the Phillies signing a leadoff hitter for 2011, either. I think it's Rollins three at least through the end of next year, no matter the results.

I'm still with DaMannse on Dobbs off the post-season roster. Not convinced it's going to happen.

The whole Wild Card thing is getting pretty interesting. I'd love to see the Padres find a way in. Tall order. Tall order for Worley against Hanson this afternoon, too.

If Jimmy isn't performing, there just isn't a leadoff hitter on the roster. I really like Vic, but when I think of Vic I think of clutch power (particularly clutch grand slam in playoffs) more than I do single-and-steal. Polanco's everything you want out of your 2 hitter, and not a steal threat like a classic 1 would be.

There's nowhere on the roster to add a leadoff hitter next year either. Rollins has a 2011 option that I can't imagine won't be picked up (and who would you get if you didn't pick up the option? Reyes (assuming the Mets don't pick up HIS option)? Alex Gonzalez?). The only starting position player with a reasonable chance to not be on next year's team is Werth, and Ichiro isn't available. Don't see us signing Crawford to lead off either.

The only, and I mean the ONLY reason I can think of that argues for Victorino hitting one and Polanco NOT hitting one (hitting two hole then), is that Polanco can really hit them here he wants to hit them. In other words, he can hit behind Victorino far better than I think Victorino can hit behind Polanco. And a second reason might be speed. Shane is fast and can go first to third far better than Polly can.

I truly hope that Charlie does not put Jimmy at lead off. I just do not see him as healthy enough to be at the top of the order. Heck, one concern we might genuinely have is whether Jimmy's injuries will seriously hamper his range at short. Jimmy does have the reputation of performing on the "Big Stage", but then your stats above essentially says that reputation is a mirage and not the recent reality of Jimmy Rollins. That is kind of scary to me.
